EQUUS ARE EXPANDING IN 2019

Since the launch of Equus in the 1990’s the company has built an enviable reputation as being the leading Country & Equestrian Property specialists for the South East region concentrating entirely on selling houses, cottages and farms with 1 acre or more and with a portfolio extending throughout the counties of Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.

The good news for 2019 is that we are now expanding our areas of coverage to take in the counties of Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. Equus’ decision to build a property portfolio in these areas comes as a result of the upsurge of interest from buyers keen to relocate from the South East ‘commuter belt’ counties and move further west to more remote rural locations where historically there has been an opportunity to get more for your money when purchasing a property with land.  The mixture of applicants keen to make this migration range from those retired, those wishing to reduce their mortgage commitments, those seeking holiday homes or investment options and many ‘first-time would-be landowners’.

One of the factors fuelling the trend to relocate to the South West counties is the number of companies who are now offering the option for employees to ‘remotely work’ (work from home) so removing the time consuming and expensive travel to work costs and eliminating the necessity to live in a commuter belt area thus giving a chance for people to trade their existing property without land and upsize to a house with acreage located in a less expensive area.

Thanks to the benefits of the always improving ‘digital workplace’ such as company intranets, speed of light communications and collaboration tools, being a remote worker or ‘tele-commuter’ can definitely pay dividends. This more environmentally friendly method of working can also bring a whole new quality to your working life.  30 more minutes of shut eye over 30 minutes spent in the car or on the train, home cooked food at the kitchen table rather than microwave frozen meals in the breakroom, a chance to enjoy more time with your family and/or pets and no necessity to hit the gym at lunchtime as your daily exercise timetable could now involve a short hack on your horse or long walk with your dog - making the most of the fresh air to clear your head!
