It might have been a certain Californian real estate stylist that brought the concept of property dressing to our televisions as the House Doctor – but for Jane Randall, it was a natural development from her involvement in helping to set up an Estate Agency in Edinburgh, and her subsequent progression into property sourcing and property development that confirmed the real value of carefully presenting properties for sale.

The Georgian splendour of the local architecture inspired her creative side - completing not just the development work on the properties, but also cleaned and dressed them ready for market – and conducted the viewings. With experience gained over 20 years and on over 200 projects, Jane has developed and refined her eye for what will help transform a property to be ready for sale, enhance marketing opportunities, and maximise achievable value.

Now back in her native Kent, Jane is getting to spend a bit more time on her other passion – horses – with 3 of them living at home with her in a property sourced (of course) through Equus!

This hasn’t stopped Jane’s interest in property, and she now operates as a freelance property stylist and interior designer with focus on preparing & presenting property for sale.

Jane sums up her approach:

“The honest fact is most people can’t see past clutter, poor decor or layout, and if they can they may well use it against you to negotiate a lower price!

My pragmatic, end to end experience of the property market is the basis of the service that I’m offering.

It’s a simple but very effective approach.

For each property I create a unique vision, aimed at maximizing its appeal and what it can offer, hence maximising end values. This could be anything from a subtle refresh to aid a sale, through to reconfiguring layouts for rental properties to create additional bedrooms and increase rental yields.

Give my passion for horses, I particularly enjoy working with equestrian properties. Keeping horses at home is a huge lifestyle choice – potential purchasers want to be confident that they can see themselves living and enjoying the property from day 1, equally confident that the equestrian facilities are ready for their horses.

I have a genuine passion for property and love what I do – but above all I know this works, that it helps to maximize viewings, and should lead to a quicker sale.”
